The Vario-II label printer range includes 200 and 300dpi resolution 4" wide printers with full stand-alone capability and internal rewinders as standard. Labels can be printed in thermal transfer or direct thermal print modes.

In stand-alone mode, labels can be created and edited using the built-in display and keypad with no need to connect the printer to a PC. For complex label designs it is also possible to use LabelStar Plus PC-based label design software to generate label designs which may be stored on a compact flash card and then used with the printer in stand-alone mode. Real time data including time, date and expiry dates can be automatically printed in stand-alone mode.

An optional RFID module is available to allow RFID 'smart' labels or tags to be encoded and printed.

Other options include cutter, label dispenser and high-capacity external rewinder.

USB, serial and parallel interfaces are included as standard. An Ethernet interface is also available as an option.
