High-resolution thermal ink jet (TIJ) printer

The Ultijet ink jet printer uses Hewlett Packard cartridges to print letter-quality text, graphics, barcodes and 2D codes at up to 600dpi print resolution. The thermal ink jet (TIJ) cartridges are quickly and easily changed and offer maintenance-free operation and minimal operating costs.

Unlike other types of ink jet printer, the cartridge-based design allows the colour and type of ink to be changed simply by changing the cartridge. Inks are available for porous and non-porous surfaces in a wide range of colours.

One Ultijet controller can drive up to four printheads each with 13mm maximum print height. These may be stacked together seamlessly to provide a print band up to 52mm high. Alternatively printheads may be installed across up to four independent production lines providing a cost-effective solution by sharing the controller cost between lines.

All common barcodes and 2D codes can be printed including CIP-13 Datamatrix with support for all currently listed application identifiers.
