The Macsa K-Series laser coder range provides cost-effective coding solutions for a wide range of materials including PET, glass, printed labels or cartons, wood, painted metals and coated surfaces.

With 10W, 30W, 60 and 70W models the K-series can be used on virtually any production line.

The K-1030 (30W) and K-1060 (60W) systems are both available with 'Super High Speed' (SHS) beam scanners to allow multi-line messages to be marked at high line speeds. For example a single K-1060 system can mark 60,000 bottles an hour.

The new KIP-1070 model has been specially designed for the beverage industry and provides 70W power with IP65 protection.

Special Options

Crystal Font - specially developed to produce high-contrast marks on PET at high marking speeds. The Crystal Font produces a dot-matrix mark that can be easily read on clear PET and other plastic surfaces.

Split Head - for applications where space is limited, the marking head can be separated from the laser tube assembly allowing just the compact marking head to be installed at the point of marking. The laser beam is delivered to the marking head using a series of tube and mirror elbows.

9.3 Micron versions use a lower wavelength of laser to generate a colour change in clear plastic substrates. In particular, when used to mark clear PET, these systems produce a whitening in the PET giving improved contrast. The combination of 9.3 micron wavelength and the Crystal Font is particularly effective for high speed marking of PET.

IP65 rated systems are available for use in harsh environments including full wash-down areas. The KIP models use a compact Vortex cooling system that allows the entire system to be fully protected against water and dust ingress.

21 CFR Part 11 compliant systems are available that include firmware and controller software modules to record all printing activity in accordance with FDA requirements for the pharmaceutical industry.

Controllers

A choice of controllers is available including the industrial colour touchpad for local control and Marca 32 PC-based print management software for centralised control of a network of laser coders.

In addition fully automated systems can be configured to use automatic print message selection or generation. For example a product bar code can be automatically scanned to select the print message reducing the risk of operator error in message selection.

Extensive management reporting and logging facilities are available to monitor and system performance and production line throughput both offline and in real time.
