                    Cardboard

 The Z series allows cost-effective printing of high resolution text, logos and bar codes onto porous and non-porous surfaces. The self-contained design comprises an integrated controller and ink system with a choice of 18mm or 34mm print head.

Up to 20 lines of text can be printed in any TrueType font.

The stainless steel printhead may be mounted in any orientation using the versatile mounting bracket supplied with the system.

The stainless steel controller houses the intuitive membrane keyboard and is ideally suited for use in harsh industrial environments,

Print messages can be created and edited on the Z series system itself or using Codex software on a PC to give true WYSIWYG graphical message editing.

Codex Software

Codex message creation software allows print messages for ALE ultra high-resolution ink jet printers to be quickly and easily created using a fully-featured Windows™ design suite.

Online - Codex may be run on a PC permanently connected to one or more ALE printer to give true WYSIWYG message creation facilities and integration with host IT systems e.g. for retrieval of data from a product database.

Offline – Alternatively messages may be designed using Codex and loaded into Z series systems for stand-alone operation without the PC connected.

A range of additional modules allows Codex to integrate with existing systems and provides additional functionality:

VERIFIX provides online bar code validation of printed bar code quality and data content with control output and results logging.

PADDI enables address printing from databases directly to the printer at high speed

ENTRIX allows print messages to be automatically selected (e.g. by barcode reader) and variable data to be automatically updated

RiX (Remote Information Exchange) allows all of a factory's coding devices to be controlled from a singe central control station including ink jet printers, thermal transfer coders, labelling systems and laser coders. Integration facilities are also provided to allow Codex to transfer data to and from a host system such as an ERP/MRP application.
